Abstract
This research article investigates the socio-economic conditions and livelihood strategies of the Korwa tribe in Latehar District, Jharkhand. The Korwa tribe, a marginalized indigenous community, faces various challenges in accessing basic amenities, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. Through a comprehensive analysis of primary data collected through surveys, interviews, and field observations, this study aims to provide insights into the socio-economic status, living conditions, and livelihood patterns of the Korwa tribe. Furthermore, the article explores the impacts of socio-economic factors such as land dispossession, migration, and environmental degradation on the well-being and resilience of the Korwa community. The findings of this research contribute to a deeper understanding of the socio-economic dynamics within tribal societies and inform policy interventions aimed at addressing the needs and aspirations of marginalized communities like the Korwa tribe in Latehar District.
