EVALUATION OF ORGANIC FERTILIZERS USING OREGANO PLANTS (ORIGANUM VULGARE) AS AN INDICATOR

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to evaluate the efficiency of different types of organic fertilizers in the growth of Oregano plants (Origanum vulgare). A completely random block design was applied, four treatments were evaluated (4): Organic Compost (T1), Manure Fertilizer (T2), Vermicompost (T3) and a Control (T4). Variables per plant such as Stem Length, Stem Diameter, leaf area, fresh weight of the plant and height were measured. The results revealed significant differences between the averages of the treatments, which affirms that organic fertilizers significantly influenced the growth and yield of the plants. With the leaf area indicator in treatment T1, plants reached 8820.43 cm2, with T2 plants of 7784.45 cm2 and T3 obtained plants with 8085.31 cm2. All treatments surpassed, in terms of real value, T4 which only reached plants with 7580.13 cm2 of leaf area.
