PIVOTAL ROLE OF RESOLUTION PROFESSIONAL IN CIRP UNDER IBC

Abstract
The paper describes the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 of India and role of resolution professional in the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process of distressed corporate debtor. It cannot be denied that role of the resolution professional is very important in the success or failure of the CIRP. In all activities starting from the filing of the application for CIRP and till its completion, the resolution professional is involved in one way or the other. An attempt has been made to understand and evaluate as to how and in what manner, the resolution professional helps to achieve the objectives of the IBC and appraises its efficiencies against a number of benchmarks.
